While home I was asked one question over and over by people who love me and who support me.  That question is:  “What are you going to do next year?”  I answered them all the same way.  I have no Idea.  And that is the true.  Anything else would be a lie.  I know that I don’t live life like a “normal” person (if there are any of those).

For the past two years I have been following God’s lead.  And so far that has worked well for me.  I know that I am to live my life for him.  We are all called to do that.  It just looks differently for everyone.  For me it means that I go where he tells me to.  This is something that yes may seem irresponsible, not really having a plan, going from one thing to another.  But think about it.  The Lord of the universe is leading me. “For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.”(PS. 49:14) The one person that knows all.  The Lord is the best leader, the best teacher, the best… well everything.  He knows what I can and can’t do.  He will never give me to much or tell me to do something that I can handle.  He KNOWS me.  He will never leave me alone to fend for myself(Even if it does feel like he does sometimes.).  My favorite verse states just that.  “Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9).

So for everyone who wants to know what I am doing after this internship.  I will let you know when I know.  The Lord has perfect timing.  He will tell me when it is time.  Of course I have my wants and hopes but all that matters is what the Lords plan is for me.  I have not followed his plan before and I will tell you following his plan is so much better.  It is more peaceful, more stretching, and in the end it will bring me more happiness than I can imagine.

Are you following the Lords plan for your life?  What does that look like? Are you happy doing it?  How can you follow it more fully?  These are all great questions.  I challenge you to take the next couple of days and really spend some time with the Lord and ask him these.  Spend time getting to know him more and to really get a grasp on what his plan for you is.  “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Chris Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.”(Eph. 2:10)

  1. Becca,

Thanks so much for the reminder of following God’s lead. Lately I have been struggling with trying to figure out what God has for me next and I feel like I need to figure it all out right now and I don’t. God has perfect timing and He will open doors for me when they need to be opened. I am so glad that you are following God’s lead and letting Him tell you what’s next!
