So I posted a blog a week or so ago about happiness and my struggle with know what it is or what it looks like.
I felt that I need to be happy. Which I now know is not true. That is a lie that the world feeds us. The thing we need to be is content. Content with God. Content with the fact that He is with us and that no matter what we are going thru he is there. The world is always telling us to be happy. If you buy this you will be happy. If you do this it will make you happy. But what about those times when you aren’t happy? We all know those times happen. Maybe more than we would like. I think the big this is to ask your self if you are content with God. Are you Satisfied with him. Not where you are in your relationship (no one should be content with that) but that you God and have a relationship with him. In 1 Tim 6 paul says: Godliness with contentment is great gain. Now who of us don’t want gain. And he isnt talking about money or worldly gain but gain for the kingdom. That is all that is going to matter in the end.
This is what we talked about in small group last night at Dave and Vicki’s. It really made me think. I don’t need to worry about if I’m happy or what not. If I am content with Christ and running towards him then happiness will come. Because God richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment (1tim 6:17).
