I am 21 today. I was thinking yesterday about all that I have done in my 21 years of life. And I came up with a list. Below is all that the Lord has done for me and provided me with. He has made it possible for me to do all of the following.
Lived in Africa for 9 months
Have has the privilege of being on two great teams -Africa & Georgia
I have been able to visit almost all of the 50 states.
Learn how to Ski
Learn to play the violin
Visited 3 continents – well including North America
Went to Peru – mission trip
Made many snowmen and snow angles.
Graduated High School
Have great parents who support me no matter how many crazy things I do.
Climbed mountains- including Table Mountain in SA.
See penguins in the wild up close – I could have touched them.
Got rid of my gap with braces even though I have to wear a retainer at night
Spent 3 weeks in Alaska
Spent a year at college
Went White water Rafting in Colorado
Fell in Love with the kids of Jeffrey’s Bay.
Made friends with people from all over the world.
Lived in a rondavel the middle of nowhere Swazi for two weeks.
Visit Mexico on two different occasions for missions.
Many of hikes in the woods
Build my relationship with my sister to where we are more than just sisters
Seen two amazing friends and women of God get married.
Learn to drive and have a car to get me places, even if it does flood.
Celebrate Christmas, Easter, and all the other holidays in freedom.
Learn how to Knit
Have had 5 dogs – at different times
Learned to cook- thanks to Grandma A.
A friend who is always there for me no matter how far apart we are
See Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Zebras and other African Animals
Ran a 10K – well mostly walked
Went spelunking
Ate ostrich, caribou, and Crocodile
Swam in three oceans
Kayaking with friends
Visits to the Beach
Have had siblings form other countries – exchange students
Seen the Grand Canyon twice
Seen the northern lights
Star gazed the night of one of the biggest meteor showers in history
Learned some of 3 different languages
There are so many more. I am so blessed to know the Lord and call him a friend. I owe my life to him who lost his to save me. I want to everyday give my life to him. Pray that this is something that I can be successful at. That I can lay down my pride, my stupidity, my perfection, and all else that keeps me from laying down my life and taking up his. It has been really humbling to look back and see what the Lord has done for me. I recommend you doing the same. You will realize that all you have and all you have done is because of Him who created this earth. That without him nothing would work out.
