Holiday time always brings families together. This year was no different. Even thought there were a few missing from around out table it was a time to gather and be thankful. A time to get the family all under one roof. This doe not happen much anymore because we are all growing up and have busy schedules.
This thanksgiving dinner like many in the past went far too fast. We spend so much time preparing this meal with so many side dishes and its all over and done with in less then an hour. Sometimes less then half an hour. How sad. Why isn’t the meal longer. Shouldn’t we want to sit around the table and talk and catch up? I don’t know when it became a race? i think that when I grow up and have thanksgiving at my house it will be a slow meal where we are able to enjoy the food and each other.
In other thoughts. This year my family was given a really big turkey. A 40lb turkey to be precise. I was able to cut it up and brine it and roast it. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
Thanks for preparing the turkey it was very good .
It was fun dad. More and more I’m realizing how much I like working with meat.
