If you were to ask me a week ago what the one thing I would change about this year besides the obvious in front of a computer for hours at a time. It would have been the community or lack of. There was something missing. Yeah I had a team but we didn’t act like it a lot of the time. The thing with my team is we work together. That is something that I never would have thought would get in the way of a Christ-like community. But it did.
But now I don’t think I would answer that way.
Monday night my team and I had an amazing time of prayer and community. Hours spent praying and lifting our team up. Driver was suppose to teach our normal Monday night group but really felt that the Lord wanted us to just pray for each other. And that really was the thing that I needed. And I think I can say the same for the rest of the team.
Monday night we were able to prove to ourselves that our team is a safe place. (I say ourselves because at least for me I knew they were safe but I was scared. I had to see it to really believe it.) That they wont look at us differently or love us less when we lay our garbage out for them to see. It was a hard thing to do. I know that I was hesitant and scared that I will get hurt when I open up. I have been hurt in the past by people that I thought were friends but ended up hurting me and really doing some damage. So you can imagine that when my team had nothing but love for me and everyone else I was relieved. I am blessed with a team who really does love me for me.
Now after Monday night I wouldn’t trade my team for anything. Yeah we still get on each others nerves but that is something that will always happen. I know that the Lord is working on us and unifying us to be a great team that is a power force for the Kingdom. I am excited to see what all the Lord has for our team. And what he is going to teach us.
Thanks again Ash, Em, King, Seth, Caleb, Driver and Robin for being such a great team. I love you guys. I cant wait to get to know you more and really live out life with you.
Oh and Happy Valentines Day! everyone.
