Tomorrow we (the intern team and our RA-Jason Driver) depart at 5am to head to Mexico. We are going to be spending 20 some hours in a 15 passenger van. We are all excited about this trip. This trip will give us lots of time to bond and get to know each other. I am excited to get to know my team. We work so much that we don’t get a lot of fun and casual time together. So this will be good for our team. Tomorrow evening we will spend the night camping at a state park on the Texas Lousiania border. Then in the morning we will finish our drive to Mexico.
Now you are probably wondering what I am going to be doing in Mexico. I too am wondering that. I know that we will be shadowing the FYMs in their ministry. Also Driver wants us to do some ministry and cultural experience on our own. A couple of my teammates have never been out of the country and so this will be a fun and new experience in some way for everyone. I am looking forward to the children and being able to minister to and play with them. Also looking forward to being an FYM again even if it is for a week. I know that the Lord will teach me many things while I am there.
W will be leaving Mexico on the 6th and stopping in New Orleans to hang out and take a tour around the city and maybe get the oppurtunity to do some ministry fopr a couple of days. I am excited to be able to see the city and do some ministry there. I have never been there. I like to be able to go new places and see what the Lord is doing there. We will be returining to Gainesville on the 8th sometime.
The pictures on this blog are of the FYM team that is there now and the people that they minister to. I will be posting more while I am down there so stay tuned for more on my time in Mexico. And next time I promise I will know more about it.
Pray for:
- Unity for our team that we can bond and become a better team.
- Safe Travel
- Energy even though we are going to be busy.
- That it won’t be awkard with the particpants and leaders down there.
Thanks for your prayers and support everyone. It means a lot.
